5. Analysis
With Izan’s poor blk%, he likely won’t start as a C and would need to be a PF or small C off the bench. Izan’s very low FT% makes his 33% 3P% likely unsustainable in the NBA and unlikely to start as a PF. If he has a NBA role, it likely is as a backup small C.
Sarr was the 2nd pick last year and has the dimensions to be a PF or C. Izan doesn’t have many advantages over Sarr except for oreb%.
Klintman is a closer comparable as a small Wing with worse oreb%, but better stl% and blk%. Klintman has a significant shooting advantage on Izan (FT%) so is more suited to be a wing than Izan.
Izan seems more like an old-school PF than a modern wing with good oreb%, but poor 3P shooting and mediocre defensive production (stl%, blk%). He has a solid ast/tov ratio, but with his poor 3P shooting and rim protection, he would need a lineup with a stretch 5 around him to play significant rotation minutes. I don’t foresee a team trying to build a bench lineup around Izan’s strengths unless he was hyperefficient from 2P%, which he wasn’t in the ABL.
